Normally I just pass the buck to the Mega Man Network in reporting this kind of stuff, but I did originally talked about this back in October for 100,000 Strong's DASH awareness campaign at NYCC, so a follow up seemed fitting.  Circle 千代田屋 has updated their post on Material SNS FG for their Rockman Dash based Winter 2012 Wonderfest offering.  Now you can see photos of the Rock Volnut garage kit and how it may look after some tender love and care in the building and painting department.  As like with before, I've reproduced these images for non Material SNS FG members.  You can see them if you follow this article's break:

Street Figther X Tekken's "Mega Man" (Henceforth MegaManSFT) has caused quite a commotion among the Mega Man community.  People have taken it as a trolling middle finger to the all Mega Man series, especially to Mega Man Legends.  But as I said before, if Capcom's PR was actually doing their job, I believe there were  things that could of been done to prevent the hard feelings and sentiments that has occurred among many customers.  And No, I'm not talking about "getting rid of the character" either, thus ruining the whole Namco versus Capcom crossover with Pac-Man.

Capcom's English Speaking PR needs to be fired. FOR THE THIRD TIME NOW.

I wish for you to meet "Mega Man".  He is a bonus character recently revealed for Street Fighter Vs Tekken, Capcom's newest blockbuster fighting game that's set to be released in March.  Not only is he some horrendously tacky super hero, he's now also really short, out of shape, easily flustered, and hot-bloodedly angry yet with no direction.  And his total composition and back-story, a jarring confused mixed up mash of different Mega Men of various franchises with an added touch of middle-aged depression and desperateness.  Now, with the number of disparaging descriptors I have laid out,  how did Capcom's Public Relations completely miss the anger and rage this character's introduction could (and has since) cause?

Death Battle! Getting Robotnik's True Power

For all my grievances in support of Dr. Wily in the Death Battle! match, I will say that Robotnik got short changed as well.  With the exception of "broken" Metal Sonic, the rest of Eggman's army was completely and utterly man-handled by Wily's side.  It was downright disgraceful how easily the Badniks fell when they were matched against forces of the same "ranking".  But is this really a fair representation of the strength of Robotnik's forces?

Death Battle! Proper Matching Roster

The Death Battle! between Robotnik and Wily has come and gone. But any fan of either the Rockman or Sonic Series who watched it would easily see that the selection of forces were in no way a fair comparison.  One aspect of this is that you had rosters of robots of very different roles and of very different level hierarchy pitted against each other as if they were somehow equivalent representatives.

While searching for stock photos of modern day robots for an upcoming site article,  my jaw dropped when I saw this little fellow among them.  This little guy goes by the name of Chapit, a portmanteau for the Japanese words for Speech, Little, and Robot.  A project by RayTron, Chapit is a specialized household robot built for voice recognition communication.  My dropped jaw of course is due to his uncanny resemblance to a certain takoyaki craving monkey.

Death Battle! The Invincible Metal Sonic?

1/18/2012

Anyone who witnessed the Robotnik vs Wily Death Battle! match can tell you that calling Metal Sonic "Robotnik's MVP" would be an understatement.  To sum it up, none of the participants even stood much of a snowball's chance in hell against the almost godly speed and power depicted for the Metalic Doppelganger.  But my intuition tells me something is amiss from the Death Battle! generalized depiction.   While I have already gone over very basic technical errors in the Death Battle! match, I did not yet address some of the overarching generalizations and themes in the match up.  Metal Sonic and his questionable superiority over everyone is the star focus for this editorial review.
